Fuel Cleaner, is the one I bought will work?Bigwheels1111 said:A fuel cleaner and a good spanking should do the trick.
Ive had many diesel’s in the last 25 years.
My Peugeot 5008 is a 1.6 bluehdi with 15,000 miles.
Just had my 3rd mot, it’s allowed a reading of 0.50.
1st year 0.01 2nd 0.02 3rd 0.01.
My old diesels all had 100,000 plus miles, A day before mot I would go to a motorway and hammer
it up the on ramp and get to 70 ish and drop down a gear or 2.
Keep it at 3000 rpm for 10 minutes.
Turn round and do it on the way back.
If it did not pass after that I would dump the car.

Does your car have a diesel engine? Will it work? Maybe, short-term. Depends what's causing the problem though.

The best fuel cleaner I’ve ever purchased was Tec 2000, very hard to get.
I would put one eat in the fuel filter and one diluted in the tank.
Give it a good hard drive, first 5 mins was a cloud of black smoke.
Then clean as a whistle.
I use millers diesel power ecomax every second tank.
Not sure if it helps but old habits die hard.
This is the Tec2000
