Hi i contacted Amazon as they take 7.99 out of my bank every month and have done since around 12 plus but im not subscribed to anything! I rang and they said i was right! They said my son whos 15 had been on or subscribed so i spoke to him amd checked his phone and computer and hes not subscribed to anything either. They are saying i cant cancel unless my son goes online on his account and cancels but he cant as hes no subscriptions! They still wont let me cancel. Can i go into the bank and cancel?

Ask your son to log in and have a look yourself.. he may not know he's signed up.. they offer 30 days free which catches a few people out.0

It won't show under 'Subscriptions' so this may be what is throwing him. Go into your account settings and select 'Prime Membership', you can cancel from there3

Or he may have more than one account and have the Prime Membership under a different account
Presumably this is being paid under a CPA on a debit/credit card in which case, with a bit of a fight normally, you can get your bank to block it (though it will block every CPA with Amazon not just the Prime Membership) but that then means he has committed to pay for a service and isnt. Given his age its probably not a major issue but he may receive threatening emails/letters unless they argue they provide essential services (eg he buys clothes or food etc) in which case it gets more into a grey area0 -
£7.99 is the price of Amazon Music Unlimited. I know Alexa occasionally asks if you want to upgrade for a free trial then if it's not cancelled charges.
Could he have said yes?0 -
My Amazon Prime membership shows up in 'Your Memberships & Subscriptions'.
Amazon are very enterprising and have various wheezes like 'Amazon Teen' and 'Amazon Family' to help 13-17 year olds to shop on Amazon.
However I note the OP has been paying for this account since 2012. That was when the son was three years old. I don't think it was the son who set up this account.0 -

When I click on my Amazon Prime payment in online banking it reveals a surprising amount of information including account name and number, how the account was set up, exactly how the payment is made, etc.
I am surprised that Amazon will discuss third party's use of an account which both Amazon and OP say does not exist.
Perhaps the OP will drip feed some more information0 -
If you have amazon prime when you are logged into your account it clearly shows in the top right corner Amazon prime.
But as @Richard D1970 said could also be amazon music.
@Alderbank is right prime does show in subscriptions, as does music. I have both....
Just make sure that son has login to their account.Life in the slow lane0 -
Amazon also own Twitch, it's very popular with kids and they often join Amazon prime to get the Twitch benefits, they do free stuff for gamers.
Ask if he uses twitch and you will have your answer.0
