Morning all, it's wet and miserable, like me, another one here that didn't sleep well last night caused by things that are out of my hands. Yesterday turned out to be really stressful, tried to pay my energy bills but computer says no. Our company of many years, SSE, are now coming under the umbrella of OVO so everything is mid transfer with no links. The drive man has postponed the work for another 2 weeks and then it will depend on the weather. I was doing an online sm shop and it took me ages as the internet is so slow, I was really fed up.The broadband man contacted us last night and is coming back again today. They've tried several times to find out where the fault is so I don't suppose today will be any different. Sorry for the rant.Today we have a poorly DGD here, her filling fell out and she has a painful mouth. DD has an appointment for her on Thursday but I did offer to try to get her an emergency one for today and I would take her, but DGD is adamant that she doesn't want one before Thursday. However she has eaten 2 chocolate croissants for breakfast so at least she's eating. We will have to find something to keep us both occupied, hopefully she can help me with my new jigsaw too.TA hope you feel a little better today. It must be horrible being in the doldrums and living on your own. Special hugs for you my friend.taff enjoy the film.Camelot some parents eh ? It's never acceptable to abuse staff. I was accused once by a parent of cutting a chunk out of a child's hair and then it was another child that had done it, but no scissors were out that week. Didn't occur to the parent that the child or sibling had done it !Gers hope you can get in before Xmas.RedRuby fingers crossed for today.Take care all, hugs all round todaynan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

Good morning all, damp and dull here, hope it brightens OH had scheduled another session of leaf gathering, love the trees, but they make a lot of work, after a couple of years here and him doing his back in raking, I made him buy a leaf guzzling machine that chops them too, makes it a lot easier.
Also scheduled for today is my "driving lesson" in the new car, going up to the park & ride which is normally pretty quiet at this time of year to get the hang of the automatic, same model as before, so shouldn't be too difficult.
Ruby best wishes for the meeting. Camelot eek some people are morons. Gers pleased that you feel better now decision made, I have tried pointing DSis in that direction, but she has resisted so far. Hester I have some things to offer on Freegle, no idiots as yet, thank goodness. TA virtual hugs, have a goodtime with your friend.
Hugs and spoons, have the best day you can.

Morning, Hugs if you need one. Gers, I am sure the counselling will be helpful. TA, sorry to hear you are a bit down, hope you feel better soon. Camelot, hope that person has been banned from the premises. its not right that some people thing they can verbally abuse others. Ruby hope the meeting goes ok.
My visit to my neighbour went off well, she was sitting in the vestibule waiting for me. She has settled, looks and feels much better. When I left she went down to the lounge to meet a friend.
My mistake was going into Aldi, which is opposite the flats, ended up spending almost £40, hey ho, it was things we like from there I cannot get at Morrison.
Quiet day, expecting parcels today and tomorrow, I have bought a job lot of Marathon thread from someone whose machine does not like it. I guess there will be duplicates, but thats fine I can keep them in stock as replacements. Also ordered another larger sticky hoop, I got on well with the one I got, so have ordered a larger one.
We were late up this morning, light did not go out until after 1am, just had breakfast, need to sort out the veggies for supper. Mince and tatties. Finished up the crumble, so no dessert.11 -
Thanks for the comments about counselling, I appreciate them. I've spent so long being strong and coping it's rather strange and difficult to realise, and admit, that I'm no longer either of those. The sun has come out but it's very cold outside. The forecast is for more rain this afternoon.Nan - has your broadband provider not offered you a wifi dongle? When BT has a problem they send one out as a temporary measure until the problem is fixed, I had one at DM's for a couple of days and it worked well. Worth asking?Maddie - good luck in your 'lesson'. I'm sure you'll be fine.12

Gers I am an intermittent poster on here ( sorry )
my DH died in April, like you with your Mum , I nursed him at home,.he had a particularly foul neurodegenerative disease that destroyed his body but left his mind and intellect unaffected.
I finally admitted defeat in September and have had some counselling since October,it is helping a lot .
like you I was used to being strong etc but have come to realise that it is stronger to admit we need outside help .
hope this helps
keep going

Good afternoon,
It's a horrible drizzly day here.
Was up early, went out for breakfast then into the city to collect our new car. It's very clean and shiny 😁
No other plans for today, will stay indoors and do some cross stitch.
Gers my Father died suddenly in June, I have found it difficult to come to terms with and have been considering counselling myself, be kind to yourself, you too Suffolk Sue.
Have a good day 🌻11 -
Had some rain here.
Had to throw out some baking powder that had been missed - baked with it last night - result - dense Victoria Sandwich and today - my muffins didn't rise as much as usual.

Good evening everyone
Been a busy few days with various visitors and then I wasn't very well again but managed to stay out of hospital...Yay!
My latest visitor left at 6.00pm so we just ordered a cheeky takeaway which was rather lovely and then I will be having an early night.
Yikes, just caught a glimpse of my hair in the mirror and I am getting so grey now, it's weird but I am very lucky (fat) not to have any wrinkles but my hair didn't get the memo apparently. I can't be bothered to start dyeing it now so I will embrace the silver threads as they appear.
I am planning a chill out day tomorrow with a lot of time spent knitting as I am very behind in making the chocolate orange covers. I gave my friend a big box of knitted toys for her to give out to the small children in her family as my family have just about reached saturation point.
Well, I'm yawning my head off so will go and watch some rubbish tv before heading to bed. Hope you all had a good day xx7
