Hubby is on enhanced for care and mob. The care results from severe anxiety and depression meaning I have been forced to take over the household running bills shopping answering unknown calls all because of a series of bullying etc. He rarely leaves his room other than for the toilet and won’t come downstairs when I am not around. On top of this he has developed fibromyalgia chronic fatigue 2 forms of arthritis and pitched up a spinal problem on a mri. If we go out it’s normally doctors. Double vaccinated plus flu jab. With the award running till June they want a new firm completed so they have the evidence by the time the claim reaches the front of the pile. Maybe his MH issues will improve when trigger point goes away, I just feel suspicious of dwp, justified as well.
How can they judge him in June for how he is now. Anyone else getting reviews 8 months early.

PIP renewal was usually done a year in advance of the current award ending. My existing award was due to expire this month (Nov 21) but I received a letter extending this to August 22, due to Covid backlog. My understanding is that most people received this extension.I received my award review form at the beginning of September, so technically 11 months early. It would seem that they are getting back to the normal review timescales. There have been large backlogs at their mail handling centre too, meaning letters go out saying that they hav'nt received your forms back. Always get proof of postage for any dealing with the DWP.0

If your husband improves between now and when they assess him, just tell them at the time of assessment how he is then and explain why. But PIP is based on how someone is for more than half the time over the whole year, so it will only be relevant if any improvement is likely to be long-lasting.0 -

PIP renewals are now 6 months before the award is due to end, this changed quite sometime ago. The reason you received your review form 11 months before was because your award was extended, which was for DWP to complete the renewal without the awards ending. Had it not been extended you would have received your form in May 2021.

I wasn't aware of this so appreciate the update.

So should you fail to get PIP renewed, when does it stop?
Is it the end date of your previous claim or when you've got the decision for the renewal?
i.e. My end date is April 2022 and I'm waiting for the decision as to if it will be renewed. If I don't get it renewed will it stop now or continue until April 2022?0 -

Any new decision overrules your current one.
