Now that they've dealt with the SoLRs for those, there are the other suppliers that hadn't met their RO payments as at 31/10:
    • Whoop Energy
    • Delta Gas and Power
    • Entice Energy
    • Neon Reef
    • Together Energy
Any bets as to whether any of these will be able to reach far enough down the back of their sofa to find the necessary change?

If none of these have yet paid up, are Ofgem going to put their money where their mouth is and withdraw their licenses, as they said they would?
If not, they're going to look utterly toothless.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Wow, those are some small suppliers acting as SoLR. Are OFGEM getting desperate? And how will it look if a small SoLR goes under?

    To be continued...

I was thinking about that but then I wondered if they were business suppliers. A quick check and they do seem to be predominantly but I'm too tired to fully check.

That is mostly non-domestic customers being transferred to small suppliers. The domestic customers have gone to British Gas or Utilita, except for 600 going to Yü Energy (along with a larger number of non-domestic customers).
Ofgem should be checking that any supplier isn't about to go under before appointing them as a SoLR, including when it's "just" for a small number of business customers. It would be quite embarrassing for them if they got this wrong.
They are stuck between a rock and a hard place, though.  If all the failed companies only go to the Big 6 as SoLR, the remaining new entrants will state that is unfair and non-competitive.
  • Interesting that there MAY be some stable small companies out there, as switch options to the Big Five. Or is that presumption a massive stretch? More research required, obviously.

By coincidence, I had noticed Utilita on one of the advertising backdrops that are used when the media interview football managers post match.
  • On further investigation, the only real domestic suppliers in this group were

    Omni 6000 (to Utilita)
    Zebra 14800 (to British Gas)
    Bluegreen 5900 (to British Gas)

So British Gas cops for another 20,000+ customers.
