Issues with Ecotricity

Hi - I moved into a new property (new build 2 bed maisonette) in March 2021 and signed up with Ecotricity.
It has come to my attention when giving them a meter reading that the electricity I am being billed for is for my neighbours box and not mine - he has told them this but nothing has changed. I have tried to contact them but cannot get through to a human being to complain about this.
I have also received a letter stating that I am now being moved onto the standard rate and again cannot contact anyone (they never respond to the online form on their web site).
I was advised to move to octopus but can see that because of the energy hikes they will not allow me to move!
Lastly - I am expecting an electric car Mid December and need to get a voucher from Ecotricity for the installation but again - no human to talk to!!
Help!!
Any advice on how to get through to these idiots would be gratefully received
TIA

Smoke signals?I'd advise taking photos of the meter(s) when you submit readings. How have you identified which meter is which? You need to switch your supply off at the main switch and make sure "your" meter no longer moves/flashes. Have you got the meter number on any document as a second check.I used to work as a meter reader ad mix-ups of meters on new properties are not uncommon. You need to get it sorted before it potentially involves large sums of money.Sorry I can't give a better answer on comms. Have they got an online chat facility?0

Was Ecotricity the deemed supplier when you moved into the property? This is not clear from your post. You must register with the deemed supplier before you can commence a transfer. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Only your existing supplier can deal with this problem. It is not the meter that is the issue. When built, properties are allocated a MPAN and a MPRN. When the meters are installed, the meter serial numbers are allocated to the MPAN or MPRN. What has happened here is that the MPAN has been incorrectly registered. For example, Plot 6 is registered as number 6 when the correct postal number is, say, 14, Your supplier needs to amend the address on the database. Clearly, this will result in a cascade effect around your development. DO NOT under any circumstances break the link between the MPAN and the meter serial number. Amending the database should take no longer than 3 weeks.0

The issue with the OP would likely be that the ECOES register is wrong and the meter number/MPAN isn't set up against the correct address.0 -
From my understanding Ecotricity are exempt from the price cap

I thought it might be worth mentioning! They used to be my energy supplier when I moved in 6 months ago and even then they were extortionate.I just got an electricity quote from their website…hopefully the tariff you are on is better than this
Unit rate 48.40p Standing charge 37.66p per day Tariff ends on 12 months from start date Exit fees (if you cancel this tariff before the end date) £200 per fuel 0
