Panasonic Service Dept - outstanding service

My Panasonic microwave died a couple of weeks ago and at 16 months old was conveniently just outside the 12 month guarantee period. :( My local repairer checked it over and advised that several parts in any Panasonic MW do in fact carry a 3 year guarantee plus free labour and one of the parts that has gone was indeed covered by this 3 year guarantee. The only problem was that the part was no longer available. Therefore my MW was basically landfill and I should buy a new one.

So I contacted the Panasonic service dept just to let them know that I was disappointed that their product had let me down at such a young age. I hate having to throw something away that should be repairable.

They confirmed that the duff part was indeed n/a, but because of this they happily volunteered to replaced my stricken MW with a brand new one.:j

So, a big thanks to Panasonic for some excellent customer service, certainly beyond my expectation (thanks especially to Nicky). Things do go wrong. Its how you deal with them that counts.

I hope this is a useful tale for anyone in the market for a new MW to consider buying a Panasonic.
