Hello everyone,
I have received a parking charge notice from Parking Eye in Ilford Retail Car Park for the amount of £100, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days of the date issued. apparently, they offer two hours of free parking or £1.70 for three hours. The parking notice stated that we have entered the car park at 09:27:37 and left at 11:40:15 so the total duration from entering the car park and leaving it was 2 hours and 12 minutes.
On the day, we couldn't find a parking space for a few minutes as it was quite busy, I have three children below the age of 4 so you can imagine how long it takes to get them settled strap their car seats.
I have read on BPA website the following: "You should allow the driver a reasonable period to leave the private car park after the parking contract has ended, before you take enforcement action. If the location is one where parking is normally permitted, the Grace Period at the end of the parking period should be a minimum of 10 minutes."
So I assume this applies to my case!
What shall I do!
Many thanks in advance.

What shall I do ?
Follow the advice in the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements , first post
Plan A is the first step
Plan B is the second step
Plan C is Popla
Plan D is court , so avoid plan D
Make sure that you quote from the latest BPA CoP version 8 dated January 2020 , not an older one
Grace periods are 2 , one to enter , park , study the signage
Two is the minimum time allowed to leave
Time is money , so either follow the rules or ensure that parking is paid for
We never see cases involving an understay , but loads of overstays !!
Plenty of cannon fodder victims who do the same thing daily
So follow plan A , a complaint to the retail park management , insisting on a cancellation ! ASAP2 -
Tell us when the retail park agents or a Store Manager cancels this crap for you. This is already explained as PLAN A in the NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD2 -
Have you complained to your MP?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

That is plan B
Plan A is what we recommended , especially if PE reject the appeal1
