Skirting board mould help!!

Advice would be greatly appreciated. Redecorated the front room last year, took the old wooden skirting boards off and replaced with MDF (that was my first mistake) couple of months later green mould appeared on them all around the room so gave them a good clean and repainted them with gloss. But this wall which was originally the chimney breast but previous owner removed, was really bad. So I removed it completely gave a real good clean and painted front and back and just sat it back in place. Didn’t want to bond it back in or Caulk it incase it went mouldy again and would end up destroying my new wall paper. Anyway had a check today and it’s a mess! See pictures. The tv cabinet is against that wall which I make sure has plenty of gap behind. Need to add that I have never had this problem before I redecorated, wish I had left well alone. Simple option should I just replace with real wood skirting?

Whats on the other side of that wall - is it an internal wall in your house, next door or an outside wall.

Next door neighbours. It’s an internal wall0

There appears to be a bit of steel conduit or capping running down from the socket - It is rusty as [censored], which suggests that you have (or had) damp in that wall.If this is an outside wall, check the soil levels - It should be ~150mm below the DPC.Her courage will change the world.
