  • Morning! A nice bright cheerful one here too - cycling from the car to the office was lovely but quite challenging with the sun full in my face for a good chunk of it!

Decided to take Greenbee's idea about doing one thing per day that makes life either easier or more pleasant - last night I tidied and cleaned the surface of my dressing table, got rid of a few oddments of clutter that had been sitting there for a while, relocated a bottle of moisturiser that I'm not using at the moment and was just sitting there, and it was indeed a pleasure to see it all clear this morning, and more of a pleasure to use it, too.

    Today:
    - Check banking
    - Keep an eye on Prolific, OnePoll etc.
    - Gym this evening straight from work
    - Tea from the meal plan - a nice quick option for when I get home after the gym
    - will aim to do a yoga session this evening under the heading of "makes life more pleasant"

    Evening all :)
Nice day here, dry, sunny and not too cold. Got chilly as the afternoon wore on though. Today I have:
    Dog walk first thing
Cleaned bathroom and then hoovered ground floor, washed kitchen floor. I shall be doing some surface clearing tomorrow, like @EssexHebridean and @greenbee.
Labelled up some items to take to my sales unit
Put them in after lunch, before working in the shop all afternoon
Dinner was steak and all the trimmings :)
Gave in and ordered a mini freezer, as mine is rammed. Useful as an overflow, and it can sit on top of the other one. Much of my current freezer contents are home grown fruit and veg. Should have bought a bigger one to start with I think (though it isn't particularly small). New little one can be turned off if not in use.

    Afternoon all :)
@EssexHebridean I am the queen of slippery freezer slopes I am afraid. I have had one and two at various times, and yes, they are always rammed :D
@jadewest94 hope you get a negative test, but I reckon you will be ok if you are eating cookies :)  Feel better soon.
    Dog walk first thing
Rhubarb from the freezer with my porridge and yogurt this morning :)
Shopping at Lidl. Only a bag of frozen peas to go in the freezer though o:)
Checked banks and updated spending diary
Now trying to motivate myself to do some dusting and tidying....
Salmon from freezer for dinner tonight.
  • Morning folks!

@jadewest94 and @EssexHebridean - I hope you both feel better soon and it's not covid. Interesting things to note re covid... according to the notice in the wondow of the pharmacy by our dr's, the top three symptoms of the delta variant are sore throat, headache and runny nose! How had I never heard this? Also, my colleague's wife who is a dr, says that apparently that lf tests don't work well if you have symptoms - but I have no idea why.

OH and I bought a small approx 95l chest freezer in the summer to store all the allotment produce. I told him that on no account must it be the place where food goes to die.

Been very busy with work this week and should be working rn but obvs posting  Big news was that I actually drove myself to and from work on Tuesday and to and from the gym on Weds (for those that don't know, I'm quite scared of driving and only started again last year after a 10 year hiatus). OH is in Berlin working so I lost my chauffeur.

    Today's small things:
:star: Heating off. Hve kept it off the whole time while OH has been away. TBH the house feels very warm still. I put the winter duvt on the bed but I've been sweating all night.
    :star: B/L/D from stores
:star: Do a bit of dusting and catch up with some chores
    :star:MUST do some Christmas knitting

    Have a good one all

  • CLF yep - Delta can present more like a regular cold or even like Hayfever in a lot of folk- they reckon that could be one of the reasons it ran riot during the warmer weather when you'd not expect it so much - that a lot of people just thought it was their usual hayfever and carried on as normal. Also yes to the LFT's not working as well if you are already symptomatic - this is because they are designed to detect a high viral load - and the viral load is highest in the pre-symptomatic stage - or what would be that stage in someone who goes on to be asymptomatic. PCR tests are sort of the opposite - they work best to pick up the presence of infection where there are symptoms, so where the viral load will have started dropping. Both very good, but also very different - and the reason why regular testing is so important - it's my regular 2 tests a week - and sometimes an extra one a few days after I've been anywhere busier than normal - that mean I can be pretty much certain that my current case of the grotty snotties probably isn't the dreaded C19! Blimey - sorry, wrote a novel there - I find this stuff really interesting though!

Well done on the driving thing too - it's so tough to make yourself go ahead and do something that feels scary isn't it. Are you OK driving if OH is with you as a passenger or does that not help?

Today then - I'm giving the gym a miss again as the fibro is still troublesome - should be OK for tomorrow I reckon.
    - Meal plan for next week was done last night
    - Shopping list to complete although I think it's pretty much there
    - Fridge review tonight I think to make sure nothing slips through the net
    - MrEH is making rolls for next week's lunches today, and we'll do another batch over the weekend
    - WM was on overnight but also over-ran massively - I need to fiddle about with the programmes again as I reckon it did an extra hour this morning, best part of. Meant it ran into the day-rate electric as well which really wasn't the idea!
    - finished up my work body spray this morning but it's already been replaced with one from the stash
    - Tea tonight will be as the plan - and I remembered to get the chops out to defrost last night.
    - Must check banking
    - Silence at 11am - we'll likely put the radio on in the office and follow it that way.
    - Need to remember to put a new box of cereal for work in my bag ready to bring in Monday

    That'll do! Happy Thursday all!

I get stressed out by driving too CLF. I make myself do it though. Not when OH is with me, as he makes me even more stressed and nervous (not his fault) but as he actually likes driving, he does it.
OH did the dog walk on his own this morning as I had wet hair. It is fairly mild today, but not so warm that I wanted to go out with wet hair!
    I have:
Washed my hair with my shampoo bar. They last ages!
Dusted / tidied bedrooms and cleaned bathroom and kitchen sink area
Put some stuff away, must continue with this!
No heating on, as it is mild and sunny. Windows open in fact, to freshen the place up a bit. I expect it will get chilly later though.
Watered indoor plants, including the huge chilli plants, that don't realise it is winter.
    Still to do:
More tidying, putting away and decluttering.
Will make corned beef hash for dinner tonight
Ought to cut the spinach and make a spinach and feta pie.
