Good morning all, dull and dry here this morning.
Yesterday I just completely ran out of steam - not unexpected, but feel a little better today
Saturday's commemoration for dear late BIL went really well, when he died it was only 20 people allowed at the funeral, so Saturday was the belated wake really. Got see see all of my siblings too which was lovely.
Need to get ready to walk into town OH has promised to come and help carry the last of DM's things to the CS, I need to top up with some heavier bits from the health food shop, he has been promised a coffee in our newly re-opened Arts Centre for his trouble.
Hugs and spoons to all, Ruby I hope that the work thing will be resolved to your advantage very soon. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)12 -
Hoping for good news fur Ruby today.
Quiet day for me today but son and family are popping in late afternoon which will break the day up nicely. Cheese scones have been ordered in advance by grandson!Still struggling with the wretched knitting of socks on 4 needles, one more try today.11 -
Hi everyone,
Steve and I are both sitting here coughing and sniffing. We've had negative tests so it's probably just colds but it's a pain all the same. Yesterday we did nothing, I had TWO naps and still went to sleep at a reasonable time.
Apparently Esben had a lovely time at his party but it sounds as if it was chaos. They had hired a pub room and lots of friends (even those without kids) went for Sunday lunch as well as the party so I'm quite glad that we didn't go. Apparently he got lots of presents (they had asked that people didn't take any) but he hasn't opened any of them yet, I think they will drip feed them to him over the next weeks, and then it will be Christmas, he'll end up thinkig that he should get presents every week.
We've got hm lentil soup for lunch and a piece of gammon to have with mash mushy peas and sweetcorn for dinner so I don't have too much cooking to do. I'm going to do a bit of gentle sorting in the dining/sewing room because i just piled up stuff to free the table for dinner on Saturday.
Have a good day.14 -
Hello all, it's a bit dull and overcast after the sunshine of yesterday, but I did get the washing almost dry and just finished it off overnight.Yesterday I tried on my woollen winter coats, I've had them both years, especially the black one which is mainly used for funerals and to my surprise they both fit and with room to spare 👏🏽 I thought they would be rather tight and I'd have to replace them but it seems not !Today I have stripped the bed and put the bedding in the wm, it'll go out on the line for a bit of freshness even if it doesn't dry very much, then overnight indoor drying again. I need to re-make the bed, clean the bedroom and bathroom, then I'll hoover and dust through the upstairs too, including the window sills because they seem to be dust magnets. I finished my jigsaw and found I had a piece left, very strange as there was no space for it either. Perhaps someone found it leftover from another jigsaw, just follow my eyes... yes him, and he didn't tell me 😂 Anyway it's safe until I need it and then I'm sure I won't remember where I've put it ! A new one has been started, a bigger one this time as the last one didn't take me long.Right I must get on with some work.Take care, hugs to all and healing vibes to the poorly ones, their family members and animals.nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Morning...weather report - grey and dull. My car is making ominous noises so it's booked in for Wednesday. Today I have the delights of at least two washing loads, probably three with the bed stuff, it's time to change for brushed cotton yumminess. I also have the boot to empty, haven't done that yet...Dinner yesterday was a bit of a disaster, the meat just stayed tough and the gravy was as salty as the sea. Going to have to rescue the meat in a soup probably, there isn't that much left on it and it'll do for a pea and ham...Beef stew already made for tonight. Good news is all of my stuff sold on ebay so that's made a large dent in the stuff cluttering the house and added some pounds to the household accounts.I made a mistake yesterday talking delightedly about how I wasn't bringing in more stuff without a purpose. I forgot a chair also which needs reupholstering. It's only a dinner table chair though, not a big stuffed thing, so make that three projects I have to do. No more....I promise...I promise myself...honest guv....Ruby, I hope work comes to it's senses....Hester, is that Steves default mode now? It must be so wearing....Ami, what's in the kits? Maddie, sounds weird, but glad you had a good time...Nelski, hope your terrorist and room are making even a little bit of difference. Hugs and imaginary cuddles for those in need, wrap up warm, I'm off to light the fire....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning All
Ran out of time to post this morning so just having 5 mins from work. It's started drizzling, that drizzle that makes you very wet very quickly (and makes my hair curl quite a lot!). Yesterday's weather was glorious if rather windy, the washing dried in no time.
Lots of odd jobs done yesterday including putting weights in the curtains, doesn't seem to have made much difference but they can stay there now I've taken the trouble to sew them in! I did a bit more Christmas shopping too but must do some food shopping tonight.
Florence, you did really well with your sale, the SA must be very pleased with the funds.
Thinking of you Ruby.
Glad your gathering went well maddie.
Hope you're doing well Nelski.
Happy Monday, take care. XX10
