O/S Daily Monday 8 November 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, but temperature has really dropped and air feels cold.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm now going for a shower and DS1 still in his pit. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast lamb, very nice it was too, but not much LO's but will have to make it stretch.
Back to work today - just 2 full days and 1 half day then on time off - can't wait as you can probably guess!
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC, Hope you have a good day at work. The wind seems to have dropped this morning, yesterday was very blustery, though I got some washing almost dry so I won't complain. We weren't out at all yesterday, Dh was busy tidying a big cupboard where he keeps a lot of his hobby stuff, and I did the ironing, so the basket is momentarily empty.I've got an appt for a blood test today at the Drs,and will do a bit of shopping on the way home. Dgd will probably be here after school, Dd will confirm this morning. That's it really. Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thinking of our poorly people.Take care folks14

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
I walked a long way y'day to collect a c&c parcel for Steve once I got home with it, it was the wrong stuff that he'd ordered. So he was grumpy, fortunately he really enjoyed lunch even though I hadn't got a joint.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.12 -
Morning all,
I’ve been awake for hours, but just got up for breakfast. I’ve just purchased my second gift for Christmas, a book for mum, so at least I have made a start, for dad I will probably buy a tin of biscuits and a calendar.Yesterday we were busy making a start on deep cleaning the sitting room. We will continue today. So all the furniture moved, floor washed, books removed etc. It’s so satisfying when it’s done. Then it will be the turn of the kitchen.
Not much else to say really! Thinking of all of you who are ill/struggling at the moment.
Take care all.

Morning all
Cold here this morning with a sharp frost on the cars. It was our village foreworks last night and by the looks of the cars parked everywhere it was quite busy, the dogs were dosed up on their .calming dog treats so were not too bad although the tiny one did go under her 'bomb' shelter which is her bed turned upside down with a blanket over the top.
Off to work today and hopefully this week I will get some answers as to what job (if any) I will be doing going forward, I just want to know now as its making me very anxious.
Roast pork tonight all cooked I will just re-heat it when I get in from work, I also made a lamb casserole for during the week.
DW needs empying this morning and I will see if a wash needs putting on.
Have good days all and stay safe xxx14 -
Morning all.
Yesterday seemed to whizz by though I was extremely lazy for most of it. Today I'm expecting my cleaner and maybe the gardener, it's a lottery really. I didn't change the bed linen so will do that today. 😃
I've been up and turned on the heating upstairs for an hour. As there's no mains gas here my radiators are electric so I tend to not use them but I've decided to be a little indulgent this winter. Now it's time to wish everyone a very happy Monday.14 -
Morning all had a bad nights sleep woke up at 4 with trapped wind then managed to fall back asleep at about 6 but woke up after a nightmare so feeling a bit jaded . DH is calling the window people to check if the bifold doors have come in and fitting really will be the 11th for all the windows and doors i need to cancel my hairdressers if it is going ahead. We tidied the shed yesterday and gave away a few bits we brought from the old house that we haven't used in nearly a year so the likelihood is we never will so its nice and clear and the garden bits have all been put away. I need to book my covid booster and flu jab so will do that later . DS has a really bad cough and blocked nose and generally looks washed out he is supposed to be away at the weekend but who knows he has taken several tests and all are negative. Have a great day whatever you are up too stay safe stay warm xxSlava Ukraini12

Morning everyone
I don't start work till almost lunchtime today so I'm planning on getting some cleaning done before I go. Cleaned the bathroom before I came down so the towels and some white bits are busy washing. The forecast says it will be dry today so hopefully they'll dry outside. My tea is just to heat up tonight as I made a big lasagne yesterday - very nice if I say so myself!
Redruby - hope work gives yo some answers soon - it must be very stressful for you.
Well I'm going to switch laptop off and get some jobs done - hope everyone has a good day13 -
Morning Hugs if you need one.
Monday is the day I take the medication for my osteoporosis, it makes me feel yuk for a couple of days, so as I have to take it an hour before food, 7am I was awake to take it,did not get up, but had to sit upright in bed. It can back flow, hence the sitting up.
Laundry in, its a dull morning, think it might go in the dryer.
DB off to Evergreens this afternoon, so I am going to visit my old neighbour, I phoned yesterday to say I was going , she was out, had gone down to the lounge, so she is making the effort to integrate, so pleased about that.
Supper tonight, cooked gammon, jacket spud and salad. Will finish off the plum crumble.10
