Declined by Very

I tried to order a couple of shirts today on Very. I don.t have an account an it seems the only way to buy off them is via an account. It doesn’t allow you to purchase as a guest. So went all the way through the process to get and account and buy the shirts and was declined.
I don’t understand why. My credit score is excellent. I’m lucky that my income is good and my outgoings not too high. I don’t have a bad credit history, no CCJs or anything. The only thing I can think of is my adult daughter has an IVA. She still lives with us so could that affect us?

There is always the option to pay via another method such as debt or credit card.
Unless you share a financial product with your daughter, her IVA will have no effect on anyone else.
Perhaps check your credit files, as the criteria for passing a catalogue credit check has a particularly low bar.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Your ability to gain credit won't be affected by your daughter - unless you have a linked/joint account with her that's reported on your own credit files. Have you recently checked all three of your major files to ensure they are all up to date?
Reasons for being declined aren't always to do with your history - if you made any error in inputting the name/address etc - that might have led to an auto-decline. There are a multitude of reasons why you may not be accepted - and nobody here will be able to answer why in this case you weren't successful. If the application went all the way to the end - you'd expect to see a search appear on your credit history over the next few weeks as they update. Keep an eye out to make sure it appears - as if it doesn't your decline might have been a technical error.
Remember - credit scores are not important. Only you see them. Nobody else in the world sees them. There's a sticky at the top of this credit file & ratings forum explaining this in a bit more detail - go have a read through when you've got 5 minutes.0 -

I have had a very account over 12 years, spent thousands, never missed a single payment, never paid interest settled within the free interest period which was 29.9%.....then out of the blue and only by chance I noticed the credit charge went to 47.8%...... On querying why they said its off changes on your credit reports check them, which I now have and there is nothing at all wrong. I have now closed this Very account as they were rude via there call centres. Very in the past five years have gone very poor so I would go else where or pay the cash route.0

I don’t share any accounts etc with my daughter. I do have credit cards and pay them in full every month if I spend on them. I’ll check my credit reports with other agencies and see if anything shows up on them0
