Cheap way to window tint back window on a car
I have blacked out back windows and rear window on my car.
DD has just got a new car and misses the privacy the tinted windows give, especially if stuff on the back seat.
Is there a sticky film type thing you can do this cheaply with - only problem being you need to be able to see out?

There are plenty on eBay search for window tint film. Then several videos on youtube showing how to do it.You can only tint the rear windows, there are laws about light transmission for the windscreen and front side windows.I suspect Something Bad will happen at the heated rear window, but plenty of companies use stick on tinting film.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

The film is cheap enough from online sellers however the skill is applying it. I doubt you or your son will be able to apply it without creases or bubbles.2

It’s worth paying the £160 or there abouts for someone who knows what their doing. It is not as simple a job as it sounds.2

If you want security for stuff on the back seat, then don't put it on the back seat. Not sure what privacy you get for the rear when you are in the front, it is a cosmetic thing I think but having done a few logo's over the years and had fun, I would do it myself if you could live with slightly imperfect results (appreciate windows a bit different to a company logo). Or you could be a natural at it and get it finger print free and bubble free first go.2

However, if it's to impress her friends or neighbours ....0 -
Thank you. I didn't actually realise it was so easily available.
I was thinking a film was blackening (is that even a word.... 😂) it out from both the inside and outside but once I've looked at ebay as suggested, it seems you can get the car film where you can view it, the same as my windows looking outside.
We can buy and give it a go. I do cricutting so use to working with vinyl and hoping it's similar to car stickering..... I guess we'll find out.
Thank you all 🌈Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

@bd1904 We had to with the van (although it was an actual window) so I'm guessing it's just the same with a car? It was straightforward and just online, but it might be easier to call when done to explain the film do you think?
It's a good point above about the heated back window, we will have to read some reviews on it and how it works.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
If the purpose is simply for security / privacy, then would a simple shade not suffice for the rear side windows:

And for the rear windscreen:
