This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about
everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great,
inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old
Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already.
Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check
the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style
natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Good morning, it's fine but windy here.Yesterday was an ok day, did a bit of shopping, and made the Christmas cake, that was all really.I've won £5 on last night's lottery, I buy a ticket occasionally, but I won't let it change my life. Not a lot planned for today, bit of housework, maybe ironing, maybe go for a walk.Thinking of our poorly people and those struggling with life.Take care folks11

Morning all,
I really am struggling to get going today, I got up to put the heating on and then straight back to bed. I will get going after this I promise.
I did not manage to visit the parents yesterday so I will go today. Yesterday was spent setting up new online banking and new mobile phone accounts etc., Not the favourite way to spend my time, but it will be worth it. I still need to complete the phone set up today as I think I need to request a PAC code.
Not much else planned for today, I should set up a to do list as I work best when it is written down, otherwise I get overwhelmed and nothing gets done.
Take care all, thinking of all who are struggling.

Morning everyone
Watched a lovely firework display from my living room window after tea last night - I think it must have been at the little caravan park close by. Then about 8pm there were really loud ones - sounded like gunfire - I looked out my bedroom window and a man was setting off loads in the farmers field just over the garden fences. He must have spent an awful lot of money!
Quiet start to the day - I'll be going down to sit with dad while mam goes to church. Then I'm hoping for a nice peaceful afternoon with my paper. Going to make a lasagne later - I said to DD for her and little one to come up for tea if she's wants to.
Little one had been waking at 5.30 every morning so DD bought a second hand 'Gro clock' - The clock face is blue at sleep time and turns to a yellow sunshine when it's morning and time to get up. I admit I was very sceptical - but it seems to have worked - she had stayed in bed till 7am this morning. I borrowed it when she stayed here on Friday and she woke at 5 and I put her back to bed and the next time she came through it was 6.30 and the sunshine was yellow. I've now bought one from Ebay too! I really can't cope with being woken before 6.30.....and when shes awake she's loud!
Better get up and dressed. Very windy here today though bright and sunny.
Florenceem well done with your sale.
Hope everyone has a good day12 -
Morning folks. The wind howled and raged all night and is still going strong, must be a tail end of a storm somewhere. I'm still cosy under my duvet ☺️ and reluctant to leave it though I will do soon. I only woke once overnight for a quick comfort break. The meds are helping so far.Yesterday I drove through really atrocious rain up to Oban for a swift shopping trip. The place was much quieter than I expected. The afternoon I spent cooking and clearing up then I watched the second part of Dalglish which really enjoyed though I don't know who whacked him over the head but suspect it was the killer. I must have missed that part of the explanation. The postie brought me more financial paperwork to deal with so I did it immediately (for a changes) signed stuff and put it in envelopes, scanned everything and burnt the stuff not in envelopes. Later I watched Worzel Gummidge which was so delightful, not my usual material but an unexpected hour of pleasure. As for today, nothing is planned. The wind and rain are still hanging around. I'd like to wash and dry the bed linen but doubt it'll get out on the line so I'll just change it and hope that tomorrow will be better. 😂
Thoughts to our poorlies. Happy Sunday to all.13 -
Morning all, I was up early, made a cup of tea and went back to bed with it. Managed to drop off again and was woken by a bird squawking outside the bedroom window and then an almighty thump on the glass. So I'm up, I've eaten a bacon sandwich and the wm is on. I'm hoping to get the washing out on the line for a while as it's sunny and the wind is blowing.I nearly finished my jigsaw yesterday so I'll probably start another this afternoon, the trouble with buying 1000 piece ones is that I do them rather quickly 😕. This morning I have to do some online shopping in a big toy shop, then I will have bought the bulk of the main xmas presents for DGD. I'll have to start on our DGS and DD's birthday ones next. I forgot to take any meat out of the freezer last night so I'll have to freezer dive for something, there's plenty there.Hope everyone has a good SundayTake care all. Hugs to anyone in need.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Scarlet and hugs to all those in need.
Beano's had his first walk, I need to collect an Amazon delivery. The nearest c&c was full so I have at least three miles to walk.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.Chin up, Titus out.12 -
Morning,
Just had morning cuppa and breakfast. Then going to DS’s to drop her birthday present off and have another brew. Will take youngest DD so she can have a play with her cousins. Lovely morning weather wise. Another load of washing on and will get it on the line. Did this yesterday but the heavens opened and alas was too late for my washing as was out. Did not get cat litter for the condensation trick but it is a must at some time to see if it works. Will de-clutter and sort a drawer today was inspired by a programme I watched yesterday so will do this. I also want to finish knitting up some socks that I started well over a year ago. I have done one sock and up to the heal of a second one and want to gift them to my mum for Christmas.Have a lovely day folks11 -
