Loft ladder

Hi, I am looking for some advice on a ladder for the loft. I don't go into the loft often (ever) but now need to get in there and after some recommendations or advice on a telescopic ladder or something simple to use to get in there and nothing to big or too expensive that I can the easily store downstairs. Thanks

Does the hatch open up or down?
If the latter, why not to get a ladder with hinges and store it in the loft?

Thanks, it’s just like a square bit of wood that pops inside, so it’s not attached it’s just loose and fits the hole if that makes sense?

    Mine the same as Kittys
A loft ladder that telescopic and hinged.
It's a bit of a fiddle popping the hatch cover up and sideways into the loft but quick and easy. You just need to have a 1/3 of the space left when the ladder is up.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
