SMALL CLAIMS COURT - Witness Statement and Dispute Resolution Hearing advice

I'm sorry I never reported back about this - it's been on my list of things to do for a couple of months.
The case was struck out of court at the first hearing (dispute resolution) as the solicitor/other party failed to attend the video call hearing. The solicitors had been quite aggressive in providing evidence up until this point, so I was a bit surprised. My guess would be that they were trying to intimidate me, which was working quite well admittedly. I was bemoaning why I didn't just pay the initial fine, even though I thought it was unjust and I was scared of having to fork out £250 instead. It was massively affecting me for a couple of weeks and stressing me out. Regardless to say, I was elated when the judge struck it out.
I hope people can read this and take some reassurance from it. I didn't follow the guidance properly, but seem to have come out on top (thankfully). Maybe this was luck, but I have no doubt that all your advice helped massively. From the other party's perspective, I would guess that they bailed out because of fear/risk of losing/costs etc.4 -
Excellent result and thanks for coming back and letting us know.1
