. I do have an iPhone 8 where I have to enter a PIN. If I get a later iphone, I would want to check that the facial recognition worked whilst I was wearing a mask. Also would check nobody else in my family wearing a mask could unlock my phone.

Facial recognition on the iPhone doesn’t work with a mask on if setup without one. You need to enter your pin instead. 9to5mac provide a guide for doing just that, I’ve not bothered I just enter pin when in shops.

If you have an Apple Watch, you can set things up so the watch unlocks your phone. Mind you, you'd probably make your payments by watch then, anyway, so no need for taking out the phone.

Let's stop complicating things with Curve - whatever that is and Chase.

OP:  Open the Apple Pay app and add your card to it.
You can add as many cards as you like and swipe across to view the right card to pay with.
This is unconnected to bank apps.
When you come to pay for something at a supermarket, open Apple Pay and give it a whirl.
It's more secure as you need your face or a fingerprint to log into your phone, rather than a pin that anyone could potentially see.

Until you are pretty comfortable and confident in using Apple Pay, ignore all posts containing the word CURVE in this thread.

Just download your banks app. Seems far easier than of these suggestions
