coffeehound said:Since it's apparently some chemical reaction to the new fill of water going on, presumably it will settle again at some point?I don't see any evidence of that.Qsk said "This has been going on for weeks. I examined surrounding area and could not see any leak. The boiler pressure does not show significant drop. The pipes were cleaned in the summer and refilled." I'm assuming 'Summer' was months ago, and this issue has only started up for mere, recent 'weeks', so no real reason to connect them. I also cannot see the water used having any inherent problems - eg being potentially acidic. The system also had 2 doses of X100 added.Certainly a fresh water fill will introduce some dissolved air into a system, but this is usually dispelled via the auto air vent.I'm hoping it isn't corrosion, because the extent of 'air' being bled would suggest some serious stuff going on.Unless qsk has a multi-storey property and a potential intake leak on the upper floor, a leaking EV seems the most obvious source of this air. He'll soon know :-)

Although the system was filled a while ago, it presumably has only been heated in the past month or so, so sounds like it's been off-gassing since being switched back on (?)
The water is hard, so there's a range of chemicals associated with that. It would be interesting to know if valving off the old rad does have an effect . .2
