Sainsburys Bank CC - "database problems"

I applied online for a balance transfer credit card on 22nd Oct and was approved.
1 week later - no credit card. Phoned up and apparently having "database" problems. Not able to tell me when this will be resolved.
2 weeks later still no credit card. Phoned up. Still having problems issuing cards. Still not able to tell me when it will be resolved.

That's unfortunate - you're unlikely to be the only one affected.
There isn't going to be much you can do about it though - if their customer registration system isn't working then it isn't working and they won't be able to register you.0 -
Customer onboarding is often a specific system, sounds like it has issues. That or there's some sort of AML check in place and they can't reveal it.Peter
Debt free - finally finished paying off £20k + Interest.0 -

My partner still waiting for his approval/card. He phoned again today - on phone for 57minutes (20 minutes waiting for call to be answered). They could still tell him nothing, he said he wanted to make a complaint. Call centre said he could but would make no difference! (way to go, Sainsbury's). She then said her Manager had given her permission to contact the department dealing with his application. After more delay (she initially rang the wrong number) she came back and said they would look at it today and he should phone back on Tuesday (a bit cheeky given its not a freephone number and he is using his lunchtime to wait for for them to pick up). He has made a complaint so hopefully might get some compensation for the long phone calls. Neither of us has ever had this kind of hassle for a credit card2
