Yeah, FD was once a v good bank but it's going downhill pretty fast (probably all the switchers grabbing the £100 or whatever it is). I am seriously considering going to Monzo/Starling and keep the FD account just as backup.
Re contacting, there's an option in the mobile app but using the fidldly virtual keyboard for a long message aint funny either.

They certainly aren't what they used to be. There's no option for me to send a message on the phone either through the app, I can only read messages but not reply.
Just bear in mind with Monzo/Starling, the banks are phone and app centric, access via the computer is somewhat basic for the former.if you need to access via the computer or if something happens to the app/phone.

In the app open the menu and there go to Help: I have a Contact option there (Android).
Not sure what the issue is in the first instance, as it’s ever so easy to figure out the FD phone number. It’s even easy to remember if you haven’t got them in your contacts list - 0113 234 5678. Or google it quickly. I haven’t got my FD debit card to hand, but from memory, the number is printed on the card. The same number has also existed for donkeys years.

In theory that's right: just ring 'em. But in practice it is very hard nowadays to get through... will take between 10 minutes to half an hour in the music loop. So a working contact option via a desktop browser would be very welcome indeed.

Well, if you read through the thread you'll see that I tried this with (now) at least six different browsers (some freshly installed, so out of the box) on two PCs and a tablet and smaprtphone (both Android). No button at all. Nowhere. I can't believe that all those different browsers, operating systems and devices should have the same settings problem (and some were freshly installed as I said). It is a complete riddle and FD seem to have no idea either.

Whatever it is, it seems to be specific to you and the occasional other user. You might have some systemwide parameters that block the button in online banking, e.g. in your network or anti virus settings.
I don't know why you would only be able to read but not to send messages in your app, as it specifically says "Send us a message".
In any case, if this problem continues to annoy you badly, you are free to leave FD and try your luck elsewhere.0 -
I've got this issue too. On laptop there's no option to send a message although it says to click on the bottom right. There's no option at all. Tried on Safari. Same. On my Android phone, yes, there's the option, but I don't want to type on my phone but on my laptop. Getting through to FD these days on the phone takes in excess of 40 minutes sometimes.0
