Good morning everyone
I was up bright and early this morning and I have had a shower and got dressed. Today I am wearing a sober pair of black trousers and the pinkest sparkliest jumper you can imagine. Think disco ball and you are about there
. Poor Steve doesn't know what to think. I feel like the duracell bunny this morning so I am going to do some cooking and baking while I can.
peony, I had visions of my favourite book when I was little. It was a ladybird book called the Magic Porridge Pot and I loved the picture of the house just filled up with porridgeGood for him though for learning to cook x
Ruby, I am so sorry you didn't get the job, I hope there are better days ahead for you xx
Gers, good that you have an understanding and supportive GP. Hope the potions work for you and you get some rest xx
We are having cottage pie for dinner which I will crack on and make in a moment. Steve wants dippy eggs for breakfast so I will join him. I also want to make a little fruit cake from my new recipe book. That will be enough to be getting on with for now.
Hope you all have a fabulous day whatever you are up to, take care xx11 -
Morning all
Cold this morning and i have started wearing gloves to walk the dog . Yesterday involved several very long calls to the probate office to find out what is happening in the end it turns out the inland revenue were asked for a form in September but didn't send it and no one chased it unless i had called to chase then it would have been in limbo for eternity thank goodness nothing happened to me or it would have been a nightmare for DH and the children anyway they have promised to send the form yesterday so hopefully we should be done and dusted soon . I have to confess i am struggling at the moment i have no energy and life just seems too much i am hoping that once just 1 of the things going on indoors is finished then i will feel a bit better.
Ruby Sorry to hear you didn't get the job but definatly take someone with you to the meeting
Gers glad you have some help from your doctor
TA Poor little Sparkle at least she behaved herself hope she feels better
Right better get a shifty on have a good day whatever you are up to xxSlava Ukraini11 -
Morning all,Back to being drizzly after a lovely but cold day yesterday. I'm going to start a big tidy up and put all the stuff DH & DS leave lying around in a box in the loft.Fed up with the mess. It brought it home to me how untidy we are when I visited a relatives apartment, - it looked so lovely. I watched a prog last night, might have been beeb2 with Staceysoloman, she and her team literally emptied a home where a mum and 3 daughters lived, put it all in a warehouse and they had to choose what to keep, donate or recycle. The team put a bit more storage in and rearranged things but it all felt & looked so much better after. Shame- I haven't got an empty warehouse, and it did take a week!Ruby sorry you didn't get the job, & hope the next meeting will be some help. Thanks for the update on Nels- good to hear.I'm predicting a couple of unsettled nights, DDog is petrified of fireworks. She's started her tablets and last night, being Divali a few went off.She took herself off down into the cellar. I pulled out the extremely uncomfortable sofa bed that no one will use, she got on and stayed all night long. If I put the TV on during the worst, or perhaps classic fm are doing a special prog between 6-10 for anxious pets we might get off lighter than last years trauma, fingers crossed.Stir fry with chicken tonight. The menfolk have steadily chomped their way through the leftover cakes I made to take to the relatives on Tuesday- ok I may have had the odd one
Take care all x

Morning, hugs if you need one. So sorry you did not get the job Ruby. Gers..... you have been through so much over the past couple of years, hopefully the medication will help.
DB is still using the back to wince every time he moves, I made him get up and walk around every hour yesterday, even sent him out to walk up the garden, more of the same today. I need him back on his feet so he can get his cataract done next Thursday.
Fine morning but chilly, typical autumn day.
Usual Friday supper, have not had a Morrison order this week, booked for next Friday.9 -
Hello all, it's warmer today.I had my phone consult with GP at 10.30am and it resulted in booking a blood test for the 30th Nov ( first available) but I failed to book a face to face appointment as he asked me to do as the appointment book doesn't go as far as the 7th Dec, so I'll have to ring again for one of those.Yesterday I broke the halogen oven, for good this time, but Dad has one brand new never been out of it's box one that I can use. He will bring it over today if he can manage to carry it as he's here for lunch, tea and a haircut. This morning I have cleaned the toilet, wiped down the kitchen, split an extra large pack of bacon and emptied the biscuit tin. I have kept the broken biscuits and crumbs and will use them up somehow, probably in a cheesecake. I have cooked the gammon and I have a fish pie and an apple and blackberry crumble ready to go in the oven. The broadband supervisor rang this morning and he and his boss are working on our line today so I'm hoping to get this posted before it goes off. I'm afraid they are scratching their heads of how to fix the problem.Snoozer Happy Birthday to your lovely little man for tomorrow 🎈🎂NMLC I'm sorry about your meal and the comment about not being enough. I would have said well "have a piece of bread and butter with it !"RedRuby sorry you didn't get the job. Perhaps something else will be done if they are putting their heads together.Take care allnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

Good Evening
Currently at DM as she had tests under general anaesthetic so had to have someone with her for 24 hours after coming home. Ds2 seems to be coping better and is more settled. DD seems to be struggling with everything, home, work and now her job has been moved to the main hospital some distance away, as she is on crutches she is not able to drive and is currently working from home, not sure what’s going to happen.Redruby - sorry about the job, hope they can sort something out.Gers - hope the medication helps
csarina - hope db improves
Bella - how annoying re the lack of communication.
Nanny - how’s the jigsaw going
snoozer - happy birthday to your grandson.Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.10
