Hi, I have had money taken from my bank account from the above. I have not asked for any travel insurance. I wonder if anyone has had this happen to them.

There's a limit to what else it could be, Great Dunmow is a pretty small place!

I have just discovered the same £146.55 taken by Travel insurancepu Gt Dunmow in January when I was purchasing travel insurance through a link on this site. I am in the process of calling my credit card company to find out who they are. Worrying thing is that we could have been travelling without insurance on our last 2 trips

As mentioned above, its a small place so not many options to choose from. The only FCA authorised firms in the area of Dunmow are David Oliver Associates and the wide range of brands they sell under plus a travel agent who'll only be selling insurance off then back of holidays booked with them.

I've had the same experience as sallycroft.
I used MSE to find what seemed the best travel insurance for me and signed up assuming a confirmatory email would arrive. A few weeks have gone by and nothing's arrived. Yet my bank statement shows £72.92 was taken by TRAVEL INSURANCEPU GT DUNMOW.
I can't remember the name of the company recommended by MSE and there is no trace of my insurance.
Until now I have had implicit trust in MSE's advice and systems. But I think they have facilitated my being conned and, by the looks of this thread, I am not the only one.

I take it all back! A phone call to David Oliver Associates, Great Dunmow, revealed the mystery insurer to be ABTA Travel Sure. They were very helpful, found my policy, and emailed it to me. It all seems pukka.
I should have asked why they didn't send me the policy when I first bought it. But at least I have it now.
So I am sorry for my earlier criticism of MSE; my faith in them has been restored.

We took our insurance out via Tui, and the payment that has gone out of our account shows as 'TRAVEL INSURANCEPU GT DUNMOW GBR'. As with many above, we never received the documents via email. Having made 6 calls to different numbers (TUI couldn't help so don't bother calling them), if you purchased your policy after April 2022, you can call 0203 093 0031 (AXA Partners) and they should be able to help. If it was before April 2022, the number is 0330 128 0957. Good luck sorting this out. I'm glad I'm not trying to find this information on the day of our holiday - this would have been stressful!
