Solicitor ignoring me and owes me £100

Hello, I need some advice on dealing with my solicitor. Its only a small amount but in principle I feel aggrieved as she is now ignoring me. Recently completed purchase of flat and a few days after competition I received an email to say I owed another £100 to the solicitor as she had paid the other parties solicitor on completion the extra money to cover the upfront paid service charge on the flat. Now here we are 11 months on and I have been informed by the Council that the previous owner had not paid the service fee and I have to pay the £100 owed. My solicitor agreed to initially write to the other solicitor about their error but since then I have made 3 emails and one phone call to my solicitor chasing up my £100 and she has not returned/acknowledged any of them.

I'm annoyed that she and the other solicitor must have taken what the seller said as gospel and I have paid £100 on their advice that I didnt need to do. So presently Im £100 down and now have to pay another £100, now to the Council.

What should I do next?

Any help appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave

For the sake of £100 would you want to take it to court. Shouldn't you be asking the council to pursue the previous occupant for the monies?

Almost exactly the same happened to me, but was closer to £400. I gave up chasing in the end as I couldn't work out the exact amount I was actually owed because part of it was to be deducted for part payment of the year I sold. I did wonder at the time how common this situation must be.

Relies on trust between all the parties concerned. Vendor pocketed the money and moved on.
