The International Bank Note Society runs a yearly award for Bank Note of the Year, taking into account 'artistic merit' and 'imaginative design', among other things. Last year's winner was Mexico's 100 Peso bill. This year's nominations include England's £50 note and Scotland's RBS £50 note.
Which made me wonder - which country's paper currency is the most pleasing? I always liked Australia's waterproof, colourful notes.
