If you do need a hearing aid following the test, won’t that involve the NHS and having to attend appointments in person anyway?
Just wondering if it’s worth paying the £95 if at the end of it any other options still need you to get out to them?

Not necessarily. Apart from the initial hearing test that identified where my hearing was failing, I haven't had any appointment.
The aids were set up based on my test results and posted out to me. I have now been wearing them for over a year now.
Unforseen, did you have a hearing test at home with Specsavers?
I had a hearing test at home as part of the Hearing fund for veterans. Unfortunately the RBL ran out of money before they got to me so I had to go to the NHS. They accepted the hearing test and issued based on that.
  • I didn’t know hearing tests at  home ( for adults) was even an option.
My NHS tests have always been in a soundproof room wired up to a specialist computer. Then the aids themselves are plugged into the computer for any necessary sound adjustment. The moulds for the bits inside your ears are done at a separate appointment but again in the clinic setting.
I really cannot see this being done in the home setting, although I acknowledge health visitors have traditionally done basic hearing tests on children at home. However my understanding  was that if a problem was identified the follow up would be in the hospital setting.

I did have one memorable test in a not soundproof room with a photocopier running just outside the door. Distinguishing between the beeps from the audiologist's computer and the beeps from the photocopier was 'interesting'.

Actually I find when they are tweaking my settings, that being a soundproof room makes it quite hard to know what the effect will be IRL.

Mine were set up based on the hearing test and posted to me. I haven't been to audiology.
It all depends on what type of  hearing aid is needed whether moulds are needed. I have the basic standard behind the ear ones which will be the norm unless the test dictates otherwise. These do not have moulded insets.

(My GP is unfortunately a waste of time 😶 and there is currently a wait of 3 weeks for an appointment just to speak to him on the phone)

For 'what is available' type queries the GP receptionists can probably answer as well as the GP.  It might also be worth contacting specsavers if you haven't to ask if there are any circumstances their home visits can be free and what would be needed to qualify.
