I need to convert a online video 1 hour long to a MP3 file? Hope someone can help please?

    You cannot.   MP3 is audio only not video.

    MP4 is for audio and video.  And many other video formats..

    Do you mean you want to download and convert the online video to play on a another device, or just extract the audio/soundtrack from the video?

    Assuming you want to get the audio file from a video on YouTube or similar you are looking for a converter such as clipconverter or y2mate.

    Another free converter is Any Video Converter. It can download from Youtube and convert to many files including MP3. I've done it many times.

    If the video is online, you may not be able to download it - either the video itself or the mp3 audio track.

    When you view the video, what player does it use. Is it youtube player, vimeo player, brightcove player, something else?

    You may be able to record the audio in real time by playing the video and recording the audio as it plays using eg totalrecorder, audacity or similar audio recording program

    I use 4K Video Downloader for stuff like this - it has an option to just download the soundtrack to a video and store it directly as an MP3, without having to download and then extract the audio.
