Electricity bill

I have a smart meter it tells me I am using between 21 and 22 pounds per week. I had run up a debt but SSE increased my monthly amount to 143.00 I have very quickly paid them back. I went renew and was quoted 209.00 a month. They say I am using 152.00 a month but my meter says otherwise
Do I keep paying too much and fo nothing or contact them and go to an amount I can't afford as a we are a low income family any advice helpful Christopher Porritt

The in-home display can only display your current use, based on the information it has.
How much energy per year do you use, what tariff are you on now, and what tariff have SSE offered you for your renewal?

    Welcome to the forum.
Your DD is not the same as your bill.  Start thinking in the costs of annual kWh usage derived from actual meter readings.
If you have been on a fixed tariff that's just expired, simply do nothing.  You will be rolled on to their default standard variable tariff.  It's unlikely that anyone will beat it but, like everyone else, you'll be paying quite a bit more until things calm down.
In the unlikely event you find a better tariff before the spring, the SVT won't have an exit fee so you'd be able to switch without penalty.
