Honeywell Evohome

I’ve I’ve moved to the premises with Honeywell installed for heating. There’s one HR92 that is always on and I have to turn whole heating system off for it to turn off. The motor does not seem to be working when I turn it to off, does this mean a new HR92 is required?

Also try taking the HR92 off the trv and see if it works also the pin on the trv could be stuck0

I installed Evohome in my previous property and ran it for 4 years. In truth, it kept me young. The issue with the HR92 might be battery-related or it could be the HR92 is no longer communicating with the Evohome controller (and vice versa). This is easily checked if you know what you are doing. I suggest that you remove the suspect HR92 and move it to a radiator closer to the controller. Once you have done this, then raise the set temperature for the old zone. (That is, if the suspect HR92 was linked to the bathroom, then this is the zone temperature that you want to increase). If the HR92 whirrs then you can rule out a battery issue and then focus on it being a comms issue.
The way Evohome works is that the controller will keep repeating the command until the HR92 responds. Unfortunately, Zigbee comms are subject to interference. If comms is the issue, then you can check that the HR92 is properly bound to the controller. This is where it gets complicated as it is very easy to double BIND a component if you don’t know what you are doing.
Whatever you do, RESIST the temptation to press the reset button as you will then need to re- commission the whole system. There is a very knowledgeable group of Evohome owners on the AutomatedHome website. Go to the heating forum. These guys know all the tricks needed to keep Evohome running.
Finally, we have been in our present home for 3 years. Evohome hasn’t crossed my doorstep. The purchaser of my old home has since ripped out £1500s worth of Evohome in favour of a more basic and assured heating control system.1 -
I have taken it off and reset it and it does appear to open and close. The issue seems to be if I take it off and turn it fully closed myself the radiator is still on which would imply it is this point which is not closing off and I assume will need changed by a plumber. Not sure what you call this piece?
