I've been here 4 years & never even thought to ask for the alarm code during the buying process. Luckily the previous owners had never used it (not sure why it was even fitted given they were involved in the building of the house from a very early stage & would have specced it) & so when my dad poked around it a little too much trying to see about taking it off the wall during redecorating & set it off (after having been told to leave it alone and that we would paint around it) I was very lucky that it was a default code I could quickly find online with the details on the code box. A loud alarm going off in one ear & my dad mithering at me to find the code quickly in the other wasn't conducive to finding the information in a timely manner.
