How do TED Talks presenters become so proficient? What training do they go through?
I've been asked to create a educational webinar but currently have a fear of public speaking that I want to shake off.

I think it's two or three things
1. Practice. Practice talking to ever larger audiences, you get better at it
2. Confidence. Believing in what you are saying.
3. Knowledge. Understanding the subject matter. In most cases, good talks don't just come out of thin air. They are written, rehearsed and they are either learned or use an autocue. It might pay to practive giving talks in front of a mirror. Or to even record them, watch them back and reflect on them to see what you can improve.
Once you have been through that process a few times, test in front of a small audience.
Different public speakers will of course have different techniques. I think almost no one is a natural with it.
A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?2
