We-Do-Doors

Has anyone had any experience of We Do Doors, of Glenrothes?  We ordered two doors 6 months ago.  Then waited four months for them to be fitted.  They were manufactured poorly, with the side frames cut off short and two infills placed in the bottom of the doors, they had rub marks along both centre frames and scratches on both doors, with poor covering of the Anthracite Grey foil and white showing through generally.
To make matters worse, their sub-contractor Mint Glazing fitted the one door incorrectly.  We didn't know we would be getting a sub-contractor, and certainly not a brand new company that at the time of doing the survey, had only been incorporated for a few weeks. They fitted the door skewed in the frame, n that it doesn't meet the internal floor on one side.  To hide the disastrous fitting they placed two trim strips down one side of the door and one on the other side.  To make it look right.  Or we would have had one inch of brick showing on one side and half an inch on the other. There's about two centimetres of silicone shoved into the gap between the skirting and the door and a really wide internal trim on one side and double trim on the other.  It really is a disaster.  We phoned straight away and were fobbed off by we-do-doors.co until the Monday.  We sent loads of emails with photos of the door disaster, and we're ignored.  We only had one phone call on the monday, where we explained the problems, but the guy seemed not to understand, other than saying they'd had problems with this manufacturer before.  Then nothing for 6 weeks.  No replies from any emails at all.
We then got an email saying the door had been sent to the fitter.  So we phoned and were fobbed off until Monday again.  Then we were told the previous guy Martin had left.  The woman said she would look into it and get back to us.
Nothing, so we emailed her again, and she then said her boss was on holiday.  Then we emailed again and finally got an email saying the door was with the fitter.  
We explained in another email, both doors were badly manufactured, with the infill at the bottom of the frames.  We have emailed over and over again, but they just ignore you.  We-Do-Doors just seem to ignore their customers.
We're now stuck with doors not fit for purpose and no one is acknowledging the faulty manufacture.  We paid for made to measure doors, not bodge jobs.  
We contacted Mint Glazing to ask them if the doors were made in the same faulty manner.  At first they asked for photos, then replied that they were sorry they hadn't noticed this when they fitted the doors.  Then they said they were going to a wedding and would check tomorrow, if the door was the same.  No reply.  So we emailed Mint Glazing again, and we're told they hadn't had time to look.  Then we emailed again and they said they'd check over the weekend and send photos.  Then we emailed again and they said they were reluctant to unwrap the door.
We were being polite and hadn't brought up their disastrous fitting.
We had given We-Do-Doors until Wednesday to resolve the issue.  But lo and behold after phone calls and dozens of emails sent, no one has replied.
Has anyone else dealt with this appalling firm?

The front page of their website says 'No Deposit on fitted doors. Only pay when job complete' so at least you are not out of pocket.

Your contract is with We Do Doors, not Mint Glazing. We Do Doors say they do work all over England and most of Scotland so most of their work will actually be done by local contractors. That is quite usual and not really your concern.

Just deal directly with We Do Doors. Resist the temptation to interact with their contractor.

Are these doors interior or exterior? What is in the door openings now - these new doors or your original ones?

Some irony on the front of their website. They boast that on a TV programme the Rachid family were distressed because a naff door had been fitted by a cowboy builder. We Do Doors generously swooped to the rescue and fixed it for them

Their doors are still in the openings.  There is that, kind of relief in a way, that we haven't paid for them.  I'd just like them removed so I can go elsewhere.

Oh, sorry forgot, yes, they are both back doors, external.

Just tell them youre not paying for them . Take lots and lots of pictures . Give them 14 days to sort it out . Instruct another trustworthy firm to do a decent job and tell them they can collect their sh1te doors once they have been removed hopefully carefully . Best sending info by recorded post . don't lose sleep . they sound shocking (love to see the pics )

I would not recommend using this company at all. They have misled me and continue to mislead customers. It promises no deposit or money will be taken until after the work is completed which was very attractive to me, but it is not true. When I didn't hear anything back from them I contacted them only to be told they would need a deposit plus 20% and they also tried to add stuff to the quote I had already received from them which was apparently needed. I’ve tried to write a review to warn others on trustpilot but they keep having the reviews removed. Their company is also listed as dissolved on the Companies House website. I would not trust them at all.

what do you suggest, should I start a new one? I was just looking to see if anyone else had had dealings with the company and they clearly have.

In the interests of balance, we got a new front door from We Do Doors last year and have been very happy with it. I don't know about the past, but there's nothing on their current web site that says they don't take a deposit until the work is done. That would be pretty unusual anyway - it's not really a deposit if you pay it afterwards. I think we paid about 20% up front and only had to pay the full balance when the door had been fitted.

I think people's experiences with companies like this depend a lot on how good the fitter is that they use. In our case he did a great job.

we received a quote in January and it clearly stated no deposit or balance would be paid until after the job was completed. Other people have also mentioned this but the company have not removed it. I would not recommend the to anyone.
