Indeed. I admire your tenacity and it is appalling that someone at Lidl signed their customers' rights away like this.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Another update: Lidl customer service manager just called me.
Key takeaways/claims from the (admittedly very polite and apologetic) manager:- Lidl cannot make PE cancel charges - the manager said in his 4+ years of working there that's always been the policy. He admitted Athena may be different when I brought up that charges with them have been cancelled by Lidl.
- Appeals made to PE with proof of shopping on that day should be accepted and I believe he insinuated that's how they've instructed PE to operate (that's me reading between lines though so take with pinch of salt) - he also agreed to send me an email that confirmed the receipt was genuine and that the driver was a customer that day, which I will pass onto PE in the appeal that I'm now being forced to make.
- Lidl CEO and management are aware of the struggles that their genuine customers have with PE. Apparently Mr Härtnagel did read the email chain, so hopefully some of the things I brought up there (inspired by the fantastic threads and comments on this forum), along with the many complaints they're undoubtedly getting from others, will find their way into the boardroom discussion.
- Lidl will try and make their email replies less copy pasty (yea right, another pinch of salt over here please waiter)

I am sre that posting bad stuff on social media will bring them to their senses. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1

Don't worry that's also on the agenda, along with Trustpilot, MP, local community newsletter & press etc etc3

I love it when people complain. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2

I received a charge from PE for a day where I was WORKING at Lidl. The management forgot to take my car reg, and I Didn’t realise it was required. I was working in the capacity of a charity fundraiser. I DID appeal and they Rejected it - offering a reduced fine of £20!!!! Obviously I still was not obliged to pay, I mean- who owns the land anyway?- I have now received a charge of £90 and an Example of a case that went to court on second appeal that they won.I’m thinking they works look very silly if they took me to court but they are threatening to impact my credit score- surely they can’t do this?0

4 years on from original post @_MrBojangles_ and I'm currently at mediation stage regarding another parking fine (Sainsbury's- Eltham) now 8 mths on. So I'm now fuming as I received one from Lidl, Eltham. I didnt realise I had to put in the reg at terminals and really not well enough sign posted or reminded. I will be calling Lidl but doubt I'll get anywhere - the parking Mafia will be the ultimate highstreet killer!!!
