Good morning everyone
Best of luck Ruby for your interview xx
It's cold here but no frost in the garden. I am trying to hold off putting the heating on till later as my friend is coming over to see me and I will put it on for her. We were very lucky and got the Warm Home grant of £140 towards our electric and gas bill so that will help us out a bit.
Plenty of faggoty pea stew left so we will have it again for dinner. I didn't get round to baking a cake but that will be my next task this morning.
I am considering dropping out of gong to my niece's wedding in December as I don't feel I will cope with the day especially with my leg being as it is. I am worried about the fallout though. I think my niece will be ok as we are not particularly close and she will have enough time to invite another couple if she wants to but my sister is going to be upset with me. She is coming over for lunch on Thursday so I will try and talk to her about it then.
Gosh, I need a cup of coffee to warm me up and maybe a sneaky gingernut or two. Hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are up to, take care xx14 -
Morning all BRRR its chilly this morning and their was a frost and mist down by the river this morning dog has been walked and fed now curled up in her bed. Good morning all
Best wished to RUBY, great of NELS to coach you for the interview.
Cold here, frost lifting and sunshine, so lovely to see after the gloom of yesterday.
Plodding along here, struggling with the pain and effects of the pain killers, but have promised myself I will pull on the BGKs and try and get a face to face with a GP.
OH and I each have a few pounds to loose, I'm not doing too well yet, but will get into the swing of things soon. Only need to loose 4llbs to get back into a couple of pairs of trousers that won't fasten and don't have a great appetite anyway, I know that I only need to cut out bread 80% of the time and it will happen.
Hugs and spoons, have a great day.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)12 -
Morning all,Good luck RRuby , & well done Nelski on giving you a good start for your interview. Hope you are doing better health wise Nels.Well the park is flooded, there's a surprise, feels like it hasn't stopped raining for over a week. I put my wellies on to take DDog out and gingerly tested the depth
, about 9". I didn't go any deeper as I didn't want it going into my wellies
It hadn't reached the pavement so didn't overflow down our road, the council raised the pavement a couple of years ago to stop that, it doesn't always.
I had a busy day baking yesterday, Victoria sponge, chocolate orange cupcakes and ginger buns. My cousin and I are going to our 2nd cousins armed with our family tree stuff. She is making a sandwich so I said I'd take cake. DH and DS1 have been willing testers and everything passed so I'll take a selection. The kitchen could do with a bit of a tidy now though, cake tins putting away etc. so I'd better get a shufti on.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning Hugs if you need one.
Happy to say our neighbour has settled very well, I got shown round, her sitting room faces across the park to an old hunting lodge which is now a nursing home, there is a public footpath up to Rhubarb Island so people wave to her as they go along the river bank. We still keep looking at her windows, I guess it will be like that for a while.
Its a cold morning, I have put a load of laundry out doubt it will dry, its sunny but very Brrrrrr...
Stew to cook tonight, have to go to the post office, will get a few mushrooms to go in it, should be enough for 2 suppers. Will do mash and veggies, need to use up some cauliflower and calabrese. There is enough jelly for dessert, just.9 -
Good morning,
It's been a frost and is very chilly🥶, have put the heating on for a while.
I need to clear out the front bedroom, we stripped the walls in the first lock down and finally the plasterer is coming tomorrow🥳🥳.
Then as it's dry I want to get out into the garden, I need to move some plants and do some tidying up.
Pizza 🍕for tea tonight so that's easy.
Good luck Ruby🤞.
Have a good day🌻11 -
Morning everyone
Still not feeling too well, achy and tired though the antibiotics are helping my chest so that's good. Hopefully Covid test will come back negative. I'm going to get up after I've posted and have a potter doing a few jobs.
Ruby - good luck with your interview
Peony - thanks for asking about little ones dancing - when she listened she tried really hard to copy what the other girls were doing....she didn't always listen...I think she's a bit young yet, just have to convince DD to think the same!
Little one has been to two Halloween parties this year and loved them - especially the one where she had her face painted for the first time. DD said she sat so still. I had warned her there might be children with masks on - she replied 'granny they're not real you know!'
Well I'm going to move and do a few jobs and then I'll have a lazy afternoon. Hopefully will feel well enough to go to work tomorrow
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all...In sunny or at least dry Wales...Up the shed in a minute for hopefully the last tip run, have messaged a neighbour about some other stuff that's left, someone is coming tomorrow to fetch something else and someone else is coming to empty the big stuff. I'm waiting for my phone to charge before I go up, it wouldn't do it for some reason last night and 16% won't cut it today. Oh I'll be glad when this is finished. the cats were hating me yesterday when I left, at least OH wasn't...Good luck today Ruby! Hope you're improving Nels. I feel very useless at helping when I can't physically help someone, my bedside manner is rubbish...Hope you're sister understands dumpling..the roasties sound lovely, can't beat lard or goose grease...Gers, your night sky also sounds lovely. Good to see you settling back in again. Nanny, enjoy your jigsaw and slow down a bit...humping all that stone around..Anyway, no more rambling for a change, take care all.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Morning all, it was 3 degrees this morning and now it's reached a balmy 5 🥶 but it's dry, yay !! We had to put the heating on last night as the house felt sooooo cold, but we only needed the fire on this morning.I have been pottering about tidying up and putting things away. I shall do some dusting then I have a sm delivery arriving about lunch time, so that'll need sorting and putting away too. The frozen xmas party food, if it arrives, will go into an empty drawer in the fridge freezer. I also ordered a frozen turkey crown as there will only be us and Dad for xmas lunch but then we will be going down to DD's for tea. That's the plan for now, things might change if we get another lockdown or someone else goes down with the dreaded lurgy. Sounds like I'm all doom and gloom always looking for the negatives or what if's 😁 Actually I just like to be prepared.I had a letter yesterday telling me that I will get a winter fuel payment this year. Yippee !! And we won the lottery over the weekend, but only £3 odd. Never mind every little helps as they say.dp1 I hope you get better soon.Ruby my fingers are crossed for the interview. Good luck but I'm sure you won't need it because you have the lovely Nels helping you.Take care all, stay safe and warmnan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Redruby sending positive vibes, sorry I missed posting before your interview. I’m sure you did well with all the help from Nels. Nels hope you’re feeling better soon.8
