Click clack sink blockage

Our bathroom sink drains slowly because of all the crud that builds up.
Is there a way to prevent this or clean out: better rather than plunge and wipe?

Stop shoving inappropriate waste down it?

I googled 'bath plug cleaner' and this page came up -
https://www.google.com/search?q=cleaner+for+bath+plughole&rlz=1C1NCHA_enGB649GB765&oq=cleaner+for+bath+plughole&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i22i30i395j0i390i395l3.7236j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
I've used the Buster ones before and they are excellent. But you have to use the correct one for the correct plughole - for example, don't use the kitchen one by mistake (no, I have no idea how I found out about that . .!). They're not interchangeable, which I found a bit weird but there you are.
Best thing - no plunging and no wiping, which I knew I wouldn't be able to cope with. . .
Hope that is helpful. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. The metal top of the click clack waste usually unscrews so that you can give it a proper clearout. It will probably gunge up again eventually but should stay clear for a good while.1

Kitchen plug 'oles tend to get blocked up with grease and bits of food, those in bathrooms more with hair and soapy residue. They require different formulations to break down the crud.

If you want to use chemicals, the best (and cheapest) in my experience is old-fashioned bog-standard caustic soda. It comes as a powder/crystals, mix it with water and pour it down the plughole. Just take care when using it - it's powerful stuff, it'll give you a nasty burn if you splash it on your skin. And I'd hate to think what would happen if you get it in your eyes. However - it's always worth removing the u-bend and just giving it a good clean under a tap with a cloth or brush (using a different sink to the one you've removed it from!!). This is a simple, free, and totally chemical-free first step, and is often very effective. Difficult to get to on a shower, for instance, but usually very simple on a bathroom or kitchen sink.1
