hello hope someone can help me.. I have just managed to sort my credit file out after 10 years. The other day I did a quick check on capital one. I was accepted for a card.. so on Wednesday my pin came, I called today to ask when I can expect my card, when talking I found out one letter was wrong on my last name S AND NOT A  typo error. So they said it will be sent to back office to be change.. so does anyone know do I still get the account or will it be declined as they could do another credit check. Because officially the credit check wasn’t for me as the spelling mistake.. anyone know what happen.. they have said I can still use the card but they didn’t seem 100 percent confident in the reply’s..

Credit reference agencies use fuzzy logic for matching names... people too often use diminutive forms of first names, use alternate spellings of surnames etc to try and hide their past or not have the entity join up the dots. Therefore a minor spelling mistake with the rest of your details matching is likely to have returned your record despite the error.

I'd agree that you almost certainly will be fine, they may do another check but that wont cause a problem and will almost certainly give the same result

it was a typo error S WAS MENT TO BE A   Not trying to hide or get round the system. I actually didn’t realise untill today when I called and they pointed it out.. as u can see they are next to each other on keyboard..
