Breakdown cover for a (battery) EV?

Any Battery EV (ie. not hybrid) owners had any positive or negative experiences with particular breakdown cover providers? Are there any that won't cover BEVs in their small print? I gathered when I looked last year that some (many?) independent rescue services don't have the facilities to charge up flat batteries for example although that may not be true in late 2021. I'm guessing it is all much the same for petrol and BEVs but any guidance from BEV owners with practical experience would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • I've heard that the RAC and AA can both send vehicles with chargers. If not they have to tow the car to the nearest charger.

Having owned a couple of EVs I've never needed it. It's hard to run out, the car gives your plenty of warning when you get low.

Indeed. My concern was simply having a service refuse to help should something go wrong simply because it is an EV...

Well EVs are hardly new, they should be up to speed on them by now.
