PPI Tax Reclaim

Hi back in June we stupidly decided to use a company to try to claim back tax from my husbands previous PPI claim, in July we received a letter from HMRC to confirm there had been an over payment and the funds would be released to the company within 2 weeks, as of yet we have not received any money every time I try to ring them it’s a recorded message then the phone cuts off and e mails come back as undelivered, does anyone have any advise as to anything we could do about this - apart from never use one of these companies !! Thanks in advance

Did he sign something called a deed of assignment, legally assigning any tax refund due for particular tax year(s) to this company?
Do they have a website and is it still live?

I know he signed a letter of authority, they have a website and it’s live, up to about 4 weeks ago we’d been in regular contact with them they explained they were really busy and the claims take time originally they said they hadn’t had the money from HMRC but HMRC confirmed they had sent it to the company then 4 weeks ago they requested a copy of the letter which we sent then after that we’ve not been able to make any contact with them, we just wondered whether there is maybe a regulatory body that we could make a complaint to ?0
