I wonder if someone could advise please.
They have been double jabbed in Turkey but I have been verbally told that if they are contacted by T and T they will need to self isolate once they are here. As planes are notorious for spreading CV19 are there any links anyone could share please that I can pass onto them.
many thanks

All true I’m afraid, the only exemption for fully vaccinated people is for those vaccinated by the NHS.
I’m not sure that planes are notorious for spreading covid, I would say that the airports are more risky, but certainly if someone tests positive on their day 2 test, then you risk being contacted. Now that day 2 test is LFT rather than PCR maybe the numbers will fall?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. You don’t happen to have a link please? They don’t believe me....0

Being fully vaccinnated does not mean that you cannot contract the virus. Hence the requirement to test prior to travelling. Contact with other people will always pose a risk. That's unavoidable.0

Here is a link to the self isolation rules for close contact rules , which explain that the exemption from self isolation only applies if your vaccination was administered in UK
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-how-it-worksExemptions from self-isolation for contacts
You are not required to self-isolate if you are notified you have had close contact with someone with COVID-19 and any of the following apply:
- You are fully vaccinated =
- (14 days after your final dose of an MHRA-approved vaccine that was administered in the United Kingdom. )”

Thank you everyone and for the links too. Of course they only need to isolate if they are pinged but that is going to put a lot of people off if they even know about it! I wonder if they just ignored it and then tried to get back to their own country half way through their self isolation? Would the Border Force even know they were meant to be isolating. Not suggesting that they do this for a moment but this will put them off I think.0

I am not sure what the rules are for entry into Turkey if you have been a close contact and if you have to declare this on the Turkish Health form ? You also need a negative Covid test to enter Turkey .0

I wonder if the airline would even know? Having said that 37 billion on Track and Trace. You would think it would be able to link all the interested parties together!
Yes, The Turkish Entry Form is a good point. I have been pinged when coming back from holiday a few months ago. Must be the flight back. T and T called me but the rules had changed and I was double jabbed so I was allowed on my way.Having said that should they have known this?0 -
We all presume the services are linked up.....0 -
The laws that protect our privacy ( which most people feel is a good thing ) also mean that data can’t be shared easily - which is why during this pandemic each country has its own Health form to be completed when travelling .For example when you give your personal information to Public Health England ( T & T ) by filling in the UK Passenger Locator Form , it’s for them only - they would be in breach of data laws if they shared it with anyone who asked for it ( like an airline or another countries government).
Similarly your personal health records (including your vaccine status ) cannot be shared without your permission.1
