Igloo energy advance payment

Hope someone can help. I changed supplier from igloo energy to Sainsbury’s energy and was transferred a week or so before igloo went bust. My enquiry is does my advance payment or account credit get moved to my new account or have I lost it because they have gone bust. I was under the impression it should be transferred to my new supplier. Thx for any help

It isn't lost and it also wouldn't normally transfer to a supplier you has switched to, the refund would be handled by the supplier of last resort appointed to take on Igloo's customers.However in this case you have moved to Sainsbury's which is actually run by E.ON Next, who are also the appointed supplier of last resort.I would still expect them to keep the two entities separate so odds are it will get processed as a refund, rather than added as a credit to your account, but do expect this to take a while.1
