Hotels & Flights - Seasonal Pricing Fluctuations?

Hi

We’re due to go on a big holiday (Mauritius) next Sep/ Oct and don’t normally plan so far in advance. 

Rather than buy our flights and hotels now are there season fluctuations that we should wait for? For example Black Friday or Boxing Day sales if they’re typical for hoteliers and airlines. 

Apologies if this is a simple query but I’m not sure if I’d be naive booking now if/ when seasonal sales are typical in the industry.

I am not sure any of the normal rules still apply after the last 2 years, but under normal circumstances, there is a decent air seat sale usually starting immediately after Christmas but with everyone claiming 'huge pent up demand' ( and I am not convinced that is correct anyway) the deals might not be as great as usual. It all depends on the state of forward bookings, early autumn is lovely weather-wise so it may well be popular and much depends on the number of flight seats available, Air Mauritius isn't currently flying but others may pick up the slack.

You shouldn't lose by waiting until the end of December, how much you save depends on factors that right now are uncertain!

Thanks Alan, that’s great. Will keep my powder dry and hope that both the hotels and airlines do some sales.
