UBL ISA

I have tried to open a UBL 3 year fixed rate ISA since September. Opened the account online and received confusing paperwork. Sent £1000 to what i thought was my funding account but the money got lost. Contacted UBL and they talked me through how to transfer funds. Sent another £2000 and the money never showed up on my account, even though I was informed it should after 2 hours. A few days later It still wasn't showing so I contacted UBL and asked for all the money to be transferred back to my current account with Coop Bank. Only £2000 returned and waiting for the other £1000 which I was informed by UBL on 22/10 will be back in my account within 5 days. Still not returned so contacted them today and it's sat in a holding account waiting for it to be returned. Coop have investigated this and were informed by UBL it should be back in my account by 1st November. This has been a bad experience for me and thought I would share.

ive not been impressed with them at all. i have a 5 year fixed isa with UBL and their customer service is awful. i opened the account with £3500 and then wanted to make regular payments in to the account so i tried to deposit £10 as a test and it didnt go in the account so i sent numerous electronic messages via their app and then emails to no response, then i actually sent a hand written letter because i didnt want to spend all day on the phone. finally i had to ring them and after waiting for ages was told you couldn't make any more deposits that year after your initial deposit - how are you meant to save in this account ? they are to ring me back about my missing tenner, im not hopefulWork Less - Spend Less - Consume Less.

Fixed term accounts aren't suitable for regular saving - they will typically only allow funding within a short initial window, which I believe may be ten working days for this one, although the summary box wording could be clearer.banthecar said:ive not been impressed with them at all. i have a 5 year fixed isa with UBL and their customer service is awful. i opened the account with £3500 and then wanted to make regular payments in to the account so i tried to deposit £10 as a test and it didnt go in the account so i sent numerous electronic messages via their app and then emails to no response, then i actually sent a hand written letter because i didnt want to spend all day on the phone. finally i had to ring them and after waiting for ages was told you couldn't make any more deposits that year after your initial deposit - how are you meant to save in this account ? they are to ring me back about my missing tenner, im not hopeful

The tenner will be in a UBL holding account and will eventually be returned to you. If it isn't returned in a reasonable timescale you can make a formal complaint.

UBL Bank are the worst for customer service. I had a fixed ISA it didn’t work as they said i would and i had to keep enquiring why a holding account was still showing (complicated why they operate) Then i gave and requested to close the account via their secure message service on the app. Took me nearly three weeks of emails & phone calls to get my money returned. Then they sent it to the wrong account & not the one i’d registered. Avoid them is my advice0
