Payment of Inheritance

I inherited a substantial amount of money from my aunt. It was paid by cheque. So were my husband's and son's inheritances, although they were token compared to mine.Jombob76 said:Hello,
I am lucky enough to be a beneficiary of a inheritance which I will be using to pay of my mortgage. Now the estate property has been sold I would imagine I would be expecting a payment soon. Does anyone know if solicitors tend to pay inheritance via cheque or by BACS?
Many Thanks(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Thank you. Well the solicitor was on holiday last week so fingers crossed I may hear about it this week coming and the request of address was to post a cheque.0

Do all beneficiaries have to sign off on the statement of accounts before they pay your share?0

No, I don't beleive so - residual beneficiaries are entitled to see it but there is no requirement for them to approve or sign it off.

Good news - just to clarify, are you the OP under a different username, or just someone in a similar situation ?
