British Gas poor choice of Tarrif’s for First New Home

Family member bought first ever new home. House supplied by British Gas, yet no standard variable tarriff available on BG own site or on usual online sites so unable to proceed unless join more expensive rates which are only ones visible and not within budget.Seems like BG are not showing the ability to join  SVT for first time buyers.

Phone them up, they have to offer you a SVR tariff.

Thank you for the  reply. It took a lot lot of of persistence, like really pushed for it and eventually she did get a variable with BG which suited at that time back then of course.
