changing Skirting after Carpet is down

Hi all (again)
When we moved into our property we had pretty much every room reskimmed except the upstairs Landing- in hindsight this was a mistake. At the time we wished we had taken skirting off every room before the plasterers came in so this could be plastered down to the floor. Since then we have had carpet put in the my Partner wants to get the hallway skimmed as we just don't have the time to do it ourselves.
She has asked me to take the skirting off before the plasterer comes over tomorrow but I have my reservations as I know this can cause issues once a carpet has already been installed. I have read that this can be done if only one board at a time is taken off however we would need all boards off at the same time to be able to skim every wall.
This would only be from two walls as the Landing is very small with 3 doorways and stairs. Will it cause issues if I take these boards off?

You need to lift the carpet. I wouldn't dare leave it down when the plasterer is in!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Take off all skirting boards and uplift carpet, skim only gonna be 2/3mm
Plus don’t skim alway to the floor, leave a 25mm gap.A thankyou is payment enough .1 -
