business gas contract

Im lost. Our company gas contract isnt due for renewal until june next year but already we've got the usual companies we work with pressuring us to try sign up to a new contract. Obviously new rates are much higher than our current contract but they keep telling me rates are set to rise and if we dont act now and only renew closer to June next year we'll be paying even more.
i dont want to sign a 2-4 yr contract at current rates only for 1-2 years time rates plummet down again. Is anyone else experiencing this?
