On thankyou for replying. Do i just say what ive said in my original post about how he went to pick up a customer ?
Yes and state you and fellow taxi drivers are now considering boycotting the retail park unless the landowner steps in to cancel PCNs and to tell Smart Parking to stop penalising taxis.

A professional parking firm can easily see a taxi livery/sign when they are meant to carry out 'human checks' of automated ANPR images.  So they can exempt any taxi where the visit is a few minutes, clearly it's a passenger pick up.

You need to read the NEWBIES thread, as you could have appealed as registered keeper (not saying who the driver was) and won EASILY with a single email when you got that PCN, because Smart Parking don't use the POFA 2012. This means they are incapable of holding the registered keeper liable.

But too late to appeal now (remember this for next time).

I am replying on my phone right now and can get to the NEWBIES thread in two clicks because there is a breadcrumb trail link at the top of every page, back to page one.  So, you have the link (see my signature below that explains what the link looks like).

You write again, copying it to their Head Office and your MP.

Tell Smart the alleged debt is denied and disputed and state that they failed to comply with the POFA 2012, so cannot hold you liable.  As such, you are telling them to crase and desist and stop sending debt demands to the keeper of the vehicle.

When I say 'tell', obviously I don't mean phone them up!

Writing to say the above looks better than ignoring.

Keep all letters and tell them if you move house as you must NEVER let a PPC keep an old address in their database in case they later use it to get a secret CCJ behind your back.

Did you hear any more? No paying it even if they file a claim. We see off Smart Parking and we can help at every stage.

Hi there i sent of a letter to the park owners explaining what had happened and for it to be sorted and ive not a heard a peep from anyone. To be honest at this stage im not sure if i should be worried for a even bigger fine hitting my doorstep or be glad and assume its sorted. But if anything pops up i will post here. Thanks again.

Thanks for the update. Sounds positive to me.

Can you log into Smart Parking's website as if to pay?  If it's cancelled, it will say so, and I think they are particularly bad at bothering to tell people.
