Improving credit score?

  • Spoke to a staff member at Halifax and she said I can get a manual assessment if I sent last 3 months bank statements and copies of my credit card bill to see that I am good at payments I have a far higher chance of getting an account
  • Can only re-iterate (not sure if spelt correctly) to check with all 3 agencies for your credit report.

And then go from there. Bank can look at your last 3 payments and make their own individual assessment but what if you need anything on credit/emergency loan.

Check with all 3 agencies ...... at least then you'll have the evidence as well that there is nothing bad on your report which go back 6 years. And if there is something (which may be in dispute/fraudulent accounts - you did mention re a few addresses) then you can deal with that.

  • Please also note that the credit scoring provided by the credit rating agencies don't really have any bearing at all on how lenders rate you as all lenders rate differently. I always check my credit file every year but have never bothered to check my credit score with the agencies because I know it doesn't really matter how high they rate me, if the lenders themselves don't rate me very much.
