Additional Executor/Administrator

Hello,
Just wanted to ask if it is possible for an additional administrator to be added for an application to administer the estate?
A family member who wanted no involvement has now decided to step up. I would prefer the liability and workload to be equal in this case.
The probate application went in four weeks ago and hasn't been granted yet. To be specific, it is for letters of administration as there is no will. We (2 children) are the only beneficiaries.

I don't know if you can add one later - possible you can, but in fact you can get people to do a fair amount of the leg work for your without actually being named on the grant0

That is not possible, although they could help you with the leg work.1

Re the leg-work & liability, I helped a relative with an estate (we were niece and nephew - ultimately 9 beneficiaries) - it wasn't practical for us to both to apply as I seem to remember we had to both go somewhere to swear the oath (things have change) - so cousin did it but at all stages (including pre admin) we ensured that both knew what was going on, what we had done and discussed decisions. None of our other relatives ever queried anything but we felt that it was right to have more than one person involved0

If probate has been applied for, surely all the leg work has been done by the OP?0
