Nothing to worry about, people get these scamming emails all the time. Stick it in your junk folder and ignore.

These are just generic "scare/blackmail" emails.  File them appropriately - in "Deleted Items" and move on.

Worth running Malware Bytes just in case? They have a free version.
But any mail I do not recognise as genuine, I don't even open it. Right to the bin and delete, opening can download stuff to alert the perp that it's an active email account. Then block sender and domain.

I also forward to the fraud people before deletion.

This sort of thing seems to come in waves. You'll probably get a ton of these emails over the coming weeks and then they'll disappear. Just continue to ignore them and delete as they come in.

There are regularly hacks of/leaks from big companies (Adobe springs to mind) that release your email address into the wild. Emails are also near zero cost to send so there's no harm in making up email addresses and trying blind either.

Should you trust this site (I do, have used it over the years), you can see which known data leaks have included your email address (and even passwords - which is why it's good to use different passwords for each site you're registered on)
